Members of St. Catherine’s Youth Group Spend
Week at Mustard Seed Migrant Ministry
Located in Goshen, NY
Mickie Prinzivalli-Abatemarco, Director of Youth Ministry, had the
opportunity to spend 4 days with three of our teens, Scott Padula,
Jaime Padula and Connor Marr at Mustard Seed Migrant Ministry. The
boys worked as staff for 40 children who attend a camp for children
of migrant workers. They did a great job and are welcomed back at
any time.

A
Note from Scott, Jaime and Connor
Our
trip to the Mustard Seed Ministry taught us all a good lesson of how
not to judge a book by its cover. When we arrived, first impressions
were flying around inside our heads. We didn’t know much about the
kids, but we did know that they came from poor families without many
material goods. They had parents that came straight from Mexico and
were uneducated, with Spanish as their first language. We had not
idea what these kids were like or how well they would respond to us.
However, as the week progressed and as we participated in activities
we grew to know them and realized that these kids could be used as
examples of the best mannered, all around friendliest people that we
have met. We spent hours playing basketball, swimming and joking
around, enjoying every minute. This was a great opportunity to meet
new people that we would have never met hadn’t it been for this
camp. It was truly a great experience and we hope to visit again.
